Indoor Mobile Signal Helped Family Action to Help the Vulnerable

OVERVIEW

Family Action is a charitable organisation, dedicated to transforming lives by providing practical, emotional, and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage, and social isolation across the country since 1869.

They have worked with over 60,000 families through their 200 community-based services and thousands more are supported with financial assistance through education and welfare grants programmes.

THE PROBLEM

Headquartered in the heart of Islington, London, UK, most of the office units of Family Action are located at the underground levels of the building. Thus, the offices on the two underground floors receive no mobile signals.

Family Action has been using a boosting solution that was provided by their corporate telecom provider. However, due to the discontinuation of the existing mobile signal boosting service, the Deputy Director of Technology at Family Action reached out to Signal Boosters UK. The enquiry highlighted the need to find a legally compliant Signal Solution that could boost EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, i.e., all four networks in their offices located on the underground levels and ensure uninterrupted indoor mobile signals for voice, text, and data.

BUSINESS NEEDS

As a charity supporting vulnerable people, it is very important that all the communication channels are available with optimum performance so that the clients can reach the staff when they are in need. Along with traditional landlines, Family Action uses Mobile as one of their main communication tools for communicating with their customers, donors and other internal and external stakeholders.

THE SOLUTION

Working with one of our certified reseller-installer of CEL-FI signal solutions, we conducted a site survey to assess the severity of the signal issue for all four networks. Other than the signal strength and quality, the site survey also helps us plan the equipment needed for the project.

To ensure multi-floor signal coverage across 7,888 sq. ft. floorspace for all four networks, we used CEL-FI G41 solution.

RESULT

Installation was successfully completed within the agreed timeframe in full and on budget. Since the installation, employee participation and customer call rate increased significantly. Improving the indoor mobile signal also helped the company to comply with Health & Safety policy aptly.

CHALLENGES

We had to avoid disruptions, and the installation had to be completed during the Christmas period, so we were under time pressure.
